Food is such a big part of our lives - a great joy, a great experience to share, and fundamental to our wellbeing as well. From supporting our physical health to affecting our mental health, the more we learn about nutrition and the human body, the more awesome it is - and these spa-approved snacks prove the point.
It’s always like Christmas has come early when you hear that you can have chocolate and be healthy at the same time, and that’s exactly what Champneys have provided courtesy of their superstar Executive Chef John Woodward… avocado, chocolate, honey… who knew it could be such a wonderful combination?!
This is a personal favourite for breakfast because it’s like taking porridge and supercharging it, but if you keep it in the fridge then a little bit when hunger strikes is a great energy boost. At Lifehouse Spa they take the traditional Bircher recipe and has thrown in oodles of fruit, nuts and other scrummy bits and pieces that make it feel really decadent.
Another breakfast item, but I think you can really have this any time, it’s basically a very decadent yoghurt, but if you put a posh name on it, it sounds all the more interesting. Ragdale Hall’s take on this little number is easy to put together and a treat that pretty much tastes like spring… if you could bottle it… which it turns out you can.
Provided as an autumnal recipe for feeling warm and toasty, immunity boosting pumpkin soup is a warming and filling meal at any time of the year. Made in advance it’s a good thing to have on hand in case you have peckish moments throughout the day and it’s good for mind, body and soul.
Another one from the health gurus at Lifehouse Spa, this green smoothie is their go-to for curing all ills from hangovers to general sluggishness. It takes a little while to make, but put a batch together and it’s your best friend morning, noon and night… but mostly in the morning.
