In a noisy world, how can you take a moment to be fully present, and hear your own thoughts (or maybe silencing them)? Deep listening is one of the spa trends to watch.

What exactly is the 5 Senses Body Treatment?
It’s an 80-minute treatment starting with a relaxing foot ritual and consultation with your therapist; this is where you can choose one of The Spa’s unique aromatic blends of essential oils to use through out the treatment. Your treatment will commence with inhalation of the chosen oil and a series of slow body stretches and relaxation techniques to further aid relaxation of the muscles. Warm oils are poured over the body and scalp followed by a classic full body massage, incorporating a relaxing reflex zone foot massage and Indian Head inspired scalp massage. This will leave the mind, body and senses in complete harmony
Where does it come from?
The Luton Hoo product range has been exclusively created and inspired by the flowers and herbs found in the gardens around the estate. They are made by aromatherapists using organic and natural ingredients as to penetrate and nurture the skin quickly and deeply. The spa’s massage techniques are slow and flowing to aid muscle tension and stress relief, they incorporate the client’s specific needs to areas established during the foot ritual and consultation.
What is it supposed to do?
The treatment aims to stimulate all the five senses of the body to help with the release of stress and tension:
Hearing- there is relaxing music playing during the treatment, because of its calming and distracting effects listening to music can decrease blood pressure, heart rate and levels of anxiety related to stress.
Sight- The treatment room lights are dimmed so they are soft on the eyes and the room is lined with candles, allowing the client to start their journey of relaxation
Smell - The use of an inhalation bowl allows the aroma of the organic essential oils to enter the body through the olfactory system with immediate effect.
Touch- Massage helps with all aspects of stress relief and postural correction while the oils help to keep the skin healthy and nourished.
Taste- Clients are always always offered herbal tea to rehydrate.
Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?
We always recommend our clients make the most of our facilities which includes three heat treatment rooms, a Vitality pool and an 18-metre infinity pool
Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?
Relax in the Relaxation Lounge with a herbal tea post-treatment; it will help you savor the state of deep relaxation achieved in the last 80 minutes.
Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?
The 5 Senses Signature body treatment is a great stress reliever targeting all areas during the massage, through the Indian Head and the Reflex zones in the feet, a real top to toe treatment. We are able to create a balance within the body and mind helping to aid digestion, poor sleeping patterns, stress related problems and muscle aches and pains.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?
During the first trimester of pregnancy, massage and the use of strong aromatherapy oils are not advised.
