Time to reconnect on a hotel break at Celtic Manor

If you’re looking for a post lockdown treat, you can’t do much better than a hotel break at Celtic Manor in Wales. This impeccable resort has a wealth of things to do and enjoy, from the five star hotel to the variety of dining options, three championship golf courses to an array of other activities. It’s the perfect place to simply escape…

A hotel break

Following a major multi-million pound renovation, the hotel is as luxurious as ever and one of the wonderful things about the scale of this destination is that it caters to everyone with dedicated room options. Superior and Deluxe Rooms offer lots of space and views of the surrounding golf courses, Signature Rooms are designed for adults only, Family Rooms have the space for two adults and two children, and Suites take the sense of decadence to a whole new level.

Adding another level for those wanting plenty of their own space (although space really isn’t a commodity this place is short on), you can also stay in one of the self catering Hunter Lodges. With four fabulous en-suite bedrooms, luxury living space and hot tub with views to die for, the lodges are just made for sharing with loved ones. They include luxe features such as private saunas and plenty of living space so they can happily take up to eight people.

A variety of restaurants

You can practically dine somewhere different every night of the week at Celtic Manor, such is the variety, and it’s all a treat. Steak on Six is an adult-only award-winning restaurant serving some of the finest steaks from the British Isles. Rafters is blessed with spectacular views and serves simple but elegant food. The Grill is the Clubhouse restaurant and serves an array of dishes including succulent steaks, pasta, fresh fish, salads and burgers. Sawyers Bar and Grill is about American-inspired family dining including mac ‘n’ cheese, loaded nachos, burritos, ribs and more. Pad serves authentic Asian dishes including an Asian-inspired cocktail menu. Newbridge on Usk is a two AA Rosette award-winning restaurant under head chef Adam Whittle. The Rib Smokehouse and Grill is a sophisticated steakhouse serving Southern-influenced dishes and the Olive Tree and Garden Room serves a brilliant buffet. Still want more? Championship golf courses

Celtic Manor has three world-class championship courses, a golf academy featuring a floodlit driving range plus two luxurious golf clubhouses.  The Twenty Ten Course is celebrating an anniversary this year - it is the 10th anniversary of the only Ryder Cup ever staged in Wales, right on The Twenty Ten. It was the first course in history specifically designed to host The Ryder Cup, and is well known for its celebrated variety

The very first of the resort’s courses, Roman Road opened in 1995 and was ranked ‘the top inland course in Wales’ by Golf Monthly Magazine. It overlooks the Severn Estuary with views across to Somerset and Devon and is a favourite for its twists and turns through trees and across streams.

Finally, The Montgomerie Course is a dramatic par 69 challenge designed by Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie. Calling on all his Ryder Cup experience, he created a course with many exciting tests of strategy.
