Meanwhile, the stylish rooms and suites and ultra modern bar and restaurant make for a weekend of fun and quality time with your partner or best friend.
A vibrant gem in Scotland’s granite city, the Aberdeen spa hotel brings a touch of Scottish flair to its signature style. Sensuous hues combine with a touch of tartan throughout the rooms and suites. Meanwhile, Champagne and mojitos are in full flow and the spa is all about the treatments. There aren’t any wet facilities, but from Chakra balancing therapies to aromatherapy massages and time in the steam room and relaxation area, it’s all about quality time with someone you love or love to flirt with.
Once a 19th century warehouse, Manchester Malmaison’s design has something of the Moulin Rouge about it, with rich textures and deep colours throughout. Favourite features include gossiping over dinner at Josper Grills - an artisan indoor charcoal barbecue oven that flames and cooks steaks to a smokey perfection, and indulging in treatments in the trademark spa.
Looking out onto the city’s ‘Winking Bridge’, constructed for the Millennium and named because it resembles a winking eye, the historic architecture of Malmaison Newcastle houses a dark, sophisticated palette. In the bar, the talented mixologist is on call to whip up a Blackforest Martini at your leisure and the quayside spa knows a thing or two about everything from massages and facials to wraps and salt scrubs.
