In a noisy world, how can you take a moment to be fully present, and hear your own thoughts (or maybe silencing them)? Deep listening is one of the spa trends to watch.
Read full postFresh air is always a good idea for boosting our mental health and giving us a healthy change of scenery, but in the autumn and winter months it can feel a though there aren't that many opportunities to entice us into the great outdoors.
Outdoor gyms, cycle paths and jogging trails however are a great option, and the top spas are embracing this proactive use of outdoor space. Amongst them, is the luxurious and industry leading Fairmont Windsor Park, which features an outdoor gym, and a wellness walk to get you there.
Fairmont Windsor Park opened in 2021 with great anticipation. Not only is the location spectacular (as you might have guessed, it's on the edge of Windsor Great Park), but it's one of the most comprehensive wellness facilities you could ask for. The spa is vast, with facilities ranging from 18 treatment rooms to a 20-metre indoor pool, a courtyard hydrotherapy vitality pool, an expansive thermal suite, a Hammam and a cryotherapy chamber - and that's only the tip of the iceberg.
When it comes to fitness, the offering at Fairmont Windsor Park no less extravagant. The indoor gym spans 272m2 and has been skillfully curated by renowned industry experts. It features a Technogym Artis cardio and strength range, a Mind & Body Studio, Reformer Studio, and a Group Cycling Studio, as well as dedicated areas for HIIT, cardio, weights and strength, and a 4D Full Body Scan.
However, set in 40 acres of grounds and gardens it is fitting that the grounds are also incorporated into the wellness and fitness experience. There is a dedicated outdoor training area at the hotel, which centres huge UK designed and manufactured functional training rig. The rig allows users to take on boxing, HIIT, body weight and strength workouts in endless combinations with added climbing ropes for a unique challenge. There are Assault Bikes and Rowing machines, a 20-metre sled track, three tennis courts and two padel courts. That should keep you busy!
A personal favourite for exercise outside is always the simple pleasure of a walk or job. The more nature you can find yourself surrounded by, the better and Fairmont Windsor Park doesn't disappoint. There's an array of nearby cycling and country jogging trails, which can be enjoyed all year round, taking you across the estate and nearby locations in Windsor Great Park and Savill Gardens. For those who are feeling particularly energetic, why not jog to the outdoor gym for a workout before rewarding yourself with a sojourn in the spa?
