Five-star pampering excellence has had a makeover and it's waiting for you to visit.

The Lowry in Manchester has long been one of our favourite spa destinations, best known for its ultra-chic city style and results-driven spa treatments.

To retain those state-of-the-art credentials however, it committed to its own makeover, reopening its spa as the RE:TREAT at the end of 2022. So, if you haven't been or haven't been for a while, you definitely need to go back and discover it anew.

What's new at the spa at The Lowry Hotel?

Formerly, the spa at The Lowry was a clinically focused experience with minimalist style. Today, guests will find a warmer, earthier vibe but with just the same level of experience behind their unique wellbeing experiences.

The spa facilities at the RE:TREAT

First up, the spa facilities have had an update. There's a gym and an impressive fitness studio, but no pool.

Everything you experience has been carefully selected to encompass the most on-trend wellbeing experiences of the day, each designed to achieve particular wellness goals. For example, there's a cryotherapy chamber, a floatation or sensory deprivation tank, and a Somadome meditation pod. In fact it’s currently the only place in the UK where you can experience all three things in one place.

The spa treatments at the RE:TREAT

The spa facilities are experiences in their own right but they're also designed to prepare you for the menu of spa facilities that the RE:TREAT has available.

For these, therapists use three contrasting brands: established spa favourite Elemis, scientifically-innovative Grown Alchemist, and natural British-made GAIA, as well as offering a range of beauty services including OPI nails, waxing and MII brows.

The spa treatment menu is diverse, ranging from holistic therapies to seriously results-driven treatments such as advanced anti-ageing Collagen Rejuvenation, restorative Skin Cell Renewal and skin enhancing Pure Oxygen facials. They also have an interactive Customised Spa Bar that allows you to create your own treatment.

The awesome power of aromatherapy

April is Stress Awareness Month, but it is also a time of year when the air is filled with the delicious scents of spring. The smell of freshly cut grass, flowers coming into bloom, or sunshine on a cold morning, are all potent reminders of how scent can impact how we feel in an instant. That's precisely the magic that's harnessed in aromatherapy.
