Read full postWhen the seasons change it can set even the most steady of souls a little off balance, and few things can bring us back to ourselves like a spa treatment. With seasonal oils, salt scrubs and full body massages to choose from, these are some of our favourite therapies to help you relax, unwind and feel like your best self this season.
Gaia Spa at Boringdon Hall is a beautiful spa and hotel in scenic Devon. A combination of contemporary wellness and historic architecture, it's a romantic retreat where they really take care to consider the spa experiences they offer. On their Two Night Winter Wellness Spa Break one treatment option is their Gaia Salt and Oil Scrub - an invigorating treat for the skin to give you a natural glow. It's a 90-minute experience where the body is awakened with natural sea salt, peppermint and lemongrass, used to gently buff the skin and boost circulation.
Providing a coastal break in North Devon, Source Spa and Wellness at Saunton Sands Hotel, is a really lovely place to wake in the morning. Perched on the cliff, you can practically roll out of bed and onto the beach for a stroll on the sand, or even a swim in the sea. The unpretentious hotel is also home to a beautifully considered spa with views of the water. Amongst their treatment offerings is the Veda Mind Head Massage - perfect for anyone feeling a little overwhelmed by the world. It's described as providing therapeutic relief for headache sufferers and everyday strain accumulated by stress, too much screen time and tension elsewhere in the body. The head massage focuses on the three higher chakras of mind, body and spirit, pinpointing any tensions in your head, neck and shoulders, bringing back a sense of calm and wellbeing - just what we all need.
A chic hotel in the heart of Liverpool, Hope Street Hotel is a romantic escape where wellness meets luxury style. In their spa haven, which is all exposed brick and elegant modern features. Their My Kinda Skin bespoke prescription facial from Temple Spa is a really indulgent treat for your skin to enjoy in the autumn months. It includes a tailored face and decolletage massage plus a relaxing scalp massage. It's hydrating and balancing, making skin appear clearer and smoother. It is infused with a Mediterranean blend of 40 essential oils which will soothe and calm, and at the same time it works on relaxing the mind and body.
Laceby Manor is a luxurious retreat complete with lodges and pods to stay in, all surrounded by a secret garden, conifer trees and an innate sense of peace. Their eco-conscious spa is a focal point for the whole location, and their treatments are a particular joy. Amongst them, the Lotus Full Body Massage is a favourite. A body massage like no other, you are supported, lying face down, encouraging gravity to enhance the experience, while glossy warm oils of Sweet Orange, Fennel and Patchouli help you relax.
Lucknam Park is widely recognised as one of the most prestigious spas and hotels in the UK. It's just outside Bath and combines a luxury hotel with a Michelin starred restaurant, exquisite grounds, and a state-of-the-art spa. Alongside facilities which include a 20-metre indoor pool, an indoor/outdoor hydrotherapy pool with arboretum views, a relaxation area, five thermal cabins and dry floatation, they have a collection of delicious signature treatments. One favourite is the Soothing Jade Gua Sha Facial. The Gua Sha tool glides across your face to release tension, reduce puffiness, inflammation, sinus pressure and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst boosting circulation and promoting lymphatic drainage. Your therapist will then use natural products leaving you with a refreshed and plumped up complexion.
