It moved into the Wright family in 1738, and remained a family home for them until 1914. It became a hotel in 1940.

We had an absolutely fantastic day. Our treatments (facial and full body radiance) were relaxing and amazing. The food at lunch was delicious. We would definitely come back. The only slight negative was people saving the loungers so we had nowhere to sit. But after lunch some towels were cleared away by staff and we were able to down. Fantastic spa and lovely facilities

Great facilities and treatment was amazing, restaurant where we had the food was not good waited over hour to be told they have lost our order and then told us we will have to eat our dessert later downstairs, which when we did get it later it was still frozen, it was going so well then I felt stressed again. They was getting all orders wrong, asked for steak knife was given another knife not a steak one. They need to sort the restaurant out.

Excellent facilities , and very clean. receptionist who checked us in was very miserable and not informative at all , just as well we had been before as no Information was forth coming. treatments were excellent and very professional . Food in dining room was poor - the main course was actually ok but disgraceful you have to pay extra for veg and potatoes - if we hadn’t , we would have had literally a piece of chicken on a plate ! - sweet was not nice at all , this part of the spa deal needs to be addressed with urgency by the hotel management !

The spa was very busy and therefore there was a lack of room to change in the changing room and overcrowded at times. It was supposed to be a relaxing experience but with large groups of guests it was loud and noisy. Beds were reserved (even though there was a sign saying not to do this). The massage was lovely though and I could have stayed in the treatment room the whole time

Rooms very basic and in need of renovation. No soundproofing and could hear conversations in rooms on both sides Signs on corridors asking guests to keep noise down so hotel obviously aware but no evidence that anything being done. Detracts from an otherwise enjoyable stay

Lovely location for a relaxing break. Very comfortable room although on the small side. The food was delicious although navigating your way through the hotel to the restaurant was difficult owing to the layout of the building.

Out stay at mottram hall was lovely, the spa although not as large as somewhere like Hoar Cross hall is still impressive boasting every facility you could want from a spa. In addition it was not too overcroweded and we found no problem in using any of the pools or rooms. The staff were really nice to us leaving a birthday bag for my partner including a couple of full sized products and some strawberries and macaroons in our room, we also particularly liked the staff at the dinner restaurant, service there was really good. Service in the spa restaurant was slightly worse having to wait quite some time between courses particularly the dessert, meaning less time available to enjoy the spa. However overall that didnt bother us.

Would not return the hotel and spa are amazing but the staff are awful … we waited over an hour for lunch and then the same for the evening meal. The staff are just not attentive their literally walking past as we were shouting them. We waited half an hour just to order a drink. The breakfast situation was pretty much the same, no plates or cutlery we had to wait ages for coffee. We spoke To other guests whilst there who had the same Experince . We will not be returning
