Mercure Telford Centre

Room was ok but took an hour to warm up as it was absolutely freezing! Couldn’t see out of the windows at all. The bathroom door had marks where stickers had been pulled off and paint peeling off both doors. Bed was comfy and food was good. Booked through spa breaks so would have expected a better spa area as it was dirty and freezing. Also tried to find a way to book treatments before we went but there didn’t seem to be any! Wouldn’t return.

Everything here was great, especially the staff. We had a warm welcome, wonderful service at the table and a calm, professional and relaxing environment. My only criticism is that the evening menu was not as special as the surroundings and service might suggest. The food was really good but I had anticipated trying something a bit different. The breakfast options were fresh, regularly replenished and had an array of offerings. (It could easily have been 5 courses). The ones I had were beautifully cooked/prepared. Thank you

Booked a twin room at this hotel through SpaBreaks.com for a relaxing break for myself and daughter. On arrival was met with a notice saying that the pool was out of use due to problems with the flooring. Not a great start to a spa break. Reception service was poor and unprofessional. It took a while but eventually we were given keys to our room. After unpacking there was a knock at the door and we were told that they had allocated us the wrong room and the whole floor had been booked out. I returned to reception expecting us to be allocated a different twin room. Not the case as they had no other twin rooms available and not acceptable as we had purposely booked a twin. They did offer us two separate doubles on the next floor on opposite sides of the corridor but this was not what we wanted or had booked in the first place. Spa facilities were terrible. Changing rooms were in poor condition. Lockers were rusty and unusable unless you had brought your own padlock. Shower curtains falling off poles and towel pegs not attached to wall. Rust around doors and handles. The jacuzzi,steam room and sauna were in use so we tried to make the most of it however after being in the jacuzzi for a short while our eyes started to get sore. Too much chlorine in the water. The steam room was ok to begin with but after 5mins went into overdrive and we had to make a quick exit. This was extremely disappointing and not what we expect from a spa In my opinion this hotel should not be advertised as a spa hotel.

The hotel is absolutely lovely! Very peaceful and the facilities are brilliant! The room was clean and tidy and comfortable. Only disappointment was the hotel food. Quite bland for price! Would stay here again
