    Excellent
Everything about Ellenborough was lovely. During our day we were offered a swim, only to find the pool was outside, initially filled me with the shivers and doubt. We braved the walk in our robes to the pool at the back of the spa to find the pool with a 28 deg steam coming off of it. It was delightful, I really didn't want to leave. Our lunch was superb and a lovely cocktail included. would definitely go again.

We expected great things from this place as it was a 5* but it’s wasn’t a 5* service. Arrived at the spa to be given a quick tour around the changing rooms. We got changed and asked where the our swimming pool was because we had 45 mins before going into the spa private garden retreat. We ordered drinks from the pool side which only arrived after we asked staff 30 minutes later where are order was? We finished in the garden retreat which we then had 25 minutes spare or we thought we did till our afternoon tea. During our time in the private garden i said i didn’t know if we can just go in the restaurant in our gowns like other spa places so we asked when are time had finished in the retreat as that was opposite the spa reception. When we asked we were told no you have to get completely changed to go in the restaurant. So we now had 25 minutes to get changed with only 1 shower in the changing rooms to use between two people. We were 10 minutes late to the restaurant for our afternoon tea. We were met with a very tall guy with either a german or Russia accent. I said we have afternoon tea booked to which he looked at his watch and went your late in a very stern voice. Then he pointed to a table in the room and went sit there we asked if we could sit outside as it was a hot day but told No Instantly. We sat down he took our order. The guy who brought out our afternoon tea was lovely and friendly. Then another man in a blue suit came in (we think it was the manager he started talking to the 1st guy who was rude to us, then he started giving us dirty looks which make us feel really uncomfortable. In the end we asked for a box to take the rest of our afternoon tea with us. We never expected to be treated like this from a 5* establishment we left feeling rather deflated. This was our 1st time at this spa and the last. Best bits was the private spa garden, the pool area was nice but again now enough sun loungers for everyone there. Drinks were £14 for 1 cocktail. Then the service in the restaurant was unacceptable.
