- Contacting the spa by telephone is impossible. We had a few queries about the day and tried several times to call and no one answered. When put through by the receptionist the phone cut off. There was no way to leave a message. It was very frustrating. On arrival the staff promptly sorted our queries. This is our second time at the spa. Everything was lovely. Sadly, the foot spa’s were out of use. The afternoon tea was good, but we felt awkward keep asking for more tea, as they only gave us a small pot for one person and there were two of us. The treatments we received were amazing. The therapist explained things clearly. It was very organised, yet relaxed. Unfortunately, around 4pm a small group of children arrived and swimming lessons commenced. To improve the day, some loungers could be added around the pool for those who like to rest and read. Overall, we had a great day and would return.
- Booked a spa day at Welcombe Hotel (Stratford) through Spa Breaks. Arranged to have treatments at 10am and 11am for myself and wife. Received an email the day before stating that the treatments were going to be at 3pm and 4pm which we couldn’t do and had explained to the staff on the phone. I contacted the spa and the staff moved us both to 11am which would’ve worked brilliantly. Upon arrival, we were told that our treatments had changed to 11am and 12pm due to a therapist needing to go home as she didn’t have child care. My wife went for her booked Deep Tissue massage and thoroughly enjoyed her experience. At 12pm, I went for my Deep Tissue massage to be told that I couldn’t have it as the therapist I would be seeing wasn’t trained and it would be a Swedish massage instead. I specifically booked the spa for the treatment so came away feeling disappointed not to have received what I thought I was paying for. The Swedish massage was fine but didn’t help my back as I’d hoped it would have done. Facilities were generally okay if not a little tired. Broken seating in pool area and spa waiting room and cleanliness could be improved somewhat. Afternoon tea was good!
- Had a really enjoyable day at this spa. Great facilities, especially the outdoor jet pool. Katie gave an amazing deep tissue full body massage. Lovely hotel too & grounds. Would highly recommend & will be returning!

- The tv in our room didn’t work, nothing that could be done so we were given a free drink each. Reception staff were hit and miss, not the welcoming smiles and attitude you’d hope for. Breakfast was good, staff well dressed and attentive
- Bar and restaurant areas were very lovely Hotel room was clean but dated especially the bathroom, need upgraded especially with mould on the shower screen and around the bath, view of the garden was lovely Restaurant staff were very welcoming and pleasant but we had to chase our wine as starters had arrived but no wine, we then also had to chase a third dessert as it did not come with the others (not sure if they were under staffed) if they were then its acceptable
- Hotel stay was great, staff very friendly and room was lovely, very old but beautiful and super clean bathroom which is always a win! Food was delicious as well! Overall a great stay!
- The only redeeming part of our trip was the meal we had at the hotel. The pork belly was lovely.
