I have just returned from a ‘revitalise me’ spa break package at this ‘hotel’ and I’m absolutely disgusted that I’ve wasted a whole weekend. Prior to the stay, I was fobbed off and sent on a wild goose chase for 3 days while they tried to locate my booking, I was only phoning for clarification of my treatment times, of which in the end they hadn’t even booked in. At one point when I phoned, I was told ‘we’re too busy you’ll have to phone back’ which should have been a red flag! When we got there, we were given 4 different locker codes, no itinerary, had no idea what our treatment was going to be (neither did they apparently) and because of the way the treatment time fell, only had one hour to use the spa facilities, which to be honest was more than enough as I wouldn’t have lasted much longer in there. The pool was grimy, had mould on the sides and the flooring was cracked and floating in the water. The jacuzzi had mould around the buttons and took an eternity to even come on, and when it finally did the water was discoloured and smelt foul. The hotel itself is a premier inn, and they haven’t even tried to shy away from the fact. I enjoy staying at the premier inn .. at premier inn prices, NOT £240 for the night. The evening meal was a whole different story, the website stated ‘a 2 course meal’ when in fact it’s a £25 per person allowance, which also wasn’t explained and we were shocked to find out at the end of the meal. We were basically sat in the corner and ignored for 3 hours, we even had to go up to the bar and join the queue for our own drinks at one point. The following day, we attended breakfast at 10am (as per our reservation time which we booked upon arrival) to be told everything had been put away because ‘breakfast finishes at half 10’, there was no juice, no pastries and no condiments, all of which I asked for to no avail. Customer service doesn’t exist, the hotel itself is dated and not up to standard, and it was probably the least relaxing weekend of my life.
