- Had a wonderful spa day at Stanley House Hotel, treatments were amazing, the day was very organised, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The changing facilities in particular were impressive, very private and well equipped. Light lunch rounded off the day nicely too!

- Stanley house and spa is located in the beautiful countryside near Blackburn. On arriving at our spa day we were shown to the guest area to fill out our form. Here you could help yourself to coffees and/or fresh juice. We arrived at 10am and after filling out our form we were taken downstairs to the locker room at 1015. We quickly got changed and tried to lock our belongings away in our designated lockers but unfortunately both of our lockers wouldn’t turn and lock. With time ticking on and being conscious of the time allowed in the facilities we shut the locker doors and left them unlocked. The spa itself is nice with lovely views of the countryside from the sauna and from the pool / jacuzzi. One of the four loungers wasn’t working and had a sign on it that it was due for maintenance. They were very popular so had to time using one as soon as someone left. Also was dissatisfied with one of the rainforest showers not working as that too had a sign on the buttons stating it was due for maintenance and the crushed ice machine wasn’t working. We went upstairs for our treatments for 12:00 and both my mum and I had the best of both, 25 minute back massage and 25 minute facial, which was absolutely fantastic. Shoutout to Shona, she was professional and very thorough with her treatments. After our treatments finished at 12:50 we went downstairs and got showered and changed for our lunch which was booked in for 1330. The itinerary on the chosen spa day we chose says “2 hours use in the facilities” but this turned out to only be 80-90 minutes. We went upstairs to the restaurant for our lunch booked in for 1330. We chose our options from the set menu and our starter arrived 40 minutes later. My soup was average, warm at best. Our mains arrived another 30 minutes later from when our starter plates were taken. We both got a complimentary hot drink as they ran out of the sides we chose with our main. This was a present for both of us and even though we had a nice relaxing day, there were far too many things that put us off returning. I’ve had multiple spa days across the country and I like to try a different location each time, unfortunately Stanley house and spa won’t be one I’d recommend or personally return back to
- Initially our booking was not found. Booking was then moved without being informed which was not the start we wanted for our stay. Disappointing and they tried to blame spabreaks which wasn’t on, I had confirmed the booking and times with Stanley House via email in 2 separate occasions.
- First time visit but definitely won’t be the last. Yes it’s small but more than enough. Perfect sauna with a gorgeous view and the steam rooms were all lovely. Brilliant experience showers and lovely heated loungers around the pool. The only thing missing was a hot tub. I had the ‘Best of Both’ treatments - probably the best massage and facial I’ve ever had. Bliss!

- We was lucky to have a free room upgrade, our new room was lovely and spacious. The evening meal was disappointing due to very slow service at the start but it picked up as we got past the starters.
- Very disappointed with our stay expensive night away. No drinks available we wanted no food of the menu available we wanted, wouldn’t stay here again
- The hotel looks tired. Needs attention. Also lack of attention to cleaning. Phone wasn’t working in the room. Had to change rooms as one of the rooms had a large stain on the carpet. Finger prints on doors. Glass not cleaned properly. Wallpaper hanging off. The restaurant was very disappointing. Staff need training. Food was ok but very slow. One couple had to wait for over an hour for their courses. Menu very limited. No cocktails. I would expect to hear this place has closed within a year. It needs new management to turn this place into the quality and reputation it used to be. The breakfast was over cooked. The accompaniments….fruit, meats and jams etc really poor quality
- Our first time at Stanley hotel and spar was excellent. The food was out of this world. The staff were so helpful and smiling all the time. Beautiful views from the hotel room. WoW. We going to recommend it to our friends and family.
- This is not a spa hotel!!!! The spa is limited with a small pool that feels crowded with 6 people in it and no jacuzzi’s. You have a 2 hour limited to use the spa which is ridiculous for the cost of the experience but actually you struggle to stay in the spa for 2 hours. The bar is limited with no atmosphere. They didn’t offer cocktails and had a limited choice of wines. The rooms are basic, I booked a twin room and the beds were extremely small, smaller than a single bed. In fact I think it was a king split into two! It took 1.5hours to get our lunch and we had only ordered a salad and sandwich.! The menu at night was the same as the lunch, very limited with 2 steaks added to it. we order a bottle of Prosecco which was served with the cork still in it with no ice bucket and we had to open it ourselves. The location is nice and it would make a great location for a spa but the facilities are not there. This is more of a wedding venue than a spa in fact I’ve seen more spa facilities in a local hotel not offering spa experiences. This wasn’t a cheap hotel and definitely not worth the price.
