Bringing a contemporary touch to the historic hotel building, the spa at this hotel is a gorgeous treat that works as a spa day or as part of a luxury getaway package. As well as a light-strewn indoor heated pool to relax in, other facilities include a fitness room, relaxation room and a gym. There are classes including yoga and pilates on offer and a bijoux spa garden for post treatment relaxation.     The hotel’s dining area has been awarded two AA Rosettes, but to say it is a restaurant seems misleading – it is more like having dinner at the home of an extremely lavish friend.

    Children are welcome at the hotel and to use the pool and facilities, and have designated swimming times.

    History is the dominating theme both at Spread Eagle Hotel and in the surrounding area, with Goodwood, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Uppark House, and Cowdray ruins on the Cowdray Estate in close proximity. The picturesque market town of Midhurst in the South Downs is popular with walkers for good reason – there is plenty to please the eye; while other activities that make the most of the landscape include fishing, golf and polo.

    Generally positive but the spa staff were a little rude. My partner had a disappointing experience with her treatment and some pain afterwards. The afternoon tea and team serving it were both excellent.

    Absolutely wonderful from start to finish. Wonderful staff and treatments, lovely food. Only dropped one star because changing room is very small.

    Loved our spa day from start to finish! The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. It was a calming and very relaxing experience!

    Very Good
    What a fabulous afternoon my daughter and I had. From the pool and the jacuzzi to the wonderful massage which was set up so well with a room to relax in afterwards. Then a lovely afternoon tea. What's not to like?!
