Perched on a hilltop surrounded by acres of woodland and gardens with views stretching to the Welsh coast and Snowdonia, Ruthin Castle Hotel is a delightful mix of Medieval banquets (perfect for a celebration with friends) and historic interiors, alongside vast grounds to roam in. Very much a place for disappearing into a fantasy world of your own, The Moat spa combines modern luxury with inspiration from Finnish, Russian and Siberian experiences. It is complete with beautiful details such as a copper bath in a VIP couple’s treatment suite.

    Very Good
Quiet, pleasant spa area and staff very nice, but no pool, only outdoor hot tubs and aging building. Treatments were lovely though

    Excellent
Visited for a spa morning. Included was a rasul mud treatment, hour in hot tub, use of the facilities and afternoon tea. We have visited 6 months ago and the spa was very disorganised but we still managed to make the most of it and enjoyed the experience. We do think things have vastly improved. The receptionist was fabulous and had a lovely demeanour. Changing rooms have been vamped up. More hot tubs added. Seems a lot cleaner than before. Afternoon tea was lovely but it was last time we came. Only comments would be to bring back unlimited teas and coffees and make sure that slippers are provided (as they had ran out). We will be back again.

    Very Good
There were some issues but the staff managed to sort things out. The massage was the best we have experienced, Fiskani in particular, we both slept exceptionally well after our session with her. We did not use the other facilities but saw many improvements being made.

    Poor
This is the worst spa I have ever visited. The facilities are abysmal.
