    Room was lovely and clean but unfortunately we had issues with the spa, treatment and food. Staff also very good Spa was very small with minimal seating/beds, swimming pool was freezing and had lots of jumping children - not relaxing Jacuzzi was tiny but deep? Never experienced anything like it Treatment was head neck and shoulder massage, girl was lovely but the treatment had too much pressure and she kept pulling my hair, again not at all relaxed Food was nice but not at the same time, for the price should have been better, breakfast was cold and mass produced, juices were massively watered down Main meal, goats cheese salad was lovely but had something on top which to this day we have no idea what it was, it was tasteless, burger was massively over done, couldn’t eat it But chips fish etc was lovely Overall ok but one off stay wouldn’t repeat it

    The spa is set in a stunning part of the country, and we were welcomed in by a nice member of staff and explained our day, on entrance to the changing rooms these were untidy, and communal changing was the only option, the pool area was lovely and quiet and nice to chill, we then went for our treatments which were lovely and relaxing. After we were told we could go for our afternoon tea, and could go in our robes as others did, but we didn’t realise we had to walk to the other side of the hotel through reception in them, I would have preferred to get dressed, we were shown to our table which was lovely over looking the grounds, but then we were told we were to have the bog standard afternoon tea (not worded very well by our waitress) and it didn’t include a glass of fizz like it said on my gift voucher so we didn’t have any shame.

Slaley Hall was first built in 1911 for the Hunting family, who had been successful in cargo shipping. It opened as a hotel in 2000 following a long journey and huge levels of investment to become a popular destination.
