- The Spa was short staffed and very dirty. I really do expect the Spa to provide towels within the Spa and not in each guests hotel room. The pool (and pool area) was average. The changing facilities were very small and shabby. Some of the metal work within the Spa was rusting and dripping rust.

- Conflicting information given. Was told we need to book swimming by reception staff. Went into the spa and was told this isn’t the case if you’re on a spa weekend. No robe or slippers in our room. These were advertised as included in the spa experience. Ended up having our treatments laying under a towel wearing jeans. Hotel is quite grand looking and interesting, although needs updating. Decor is tired and scruffy. Spa/swimming area had rusty pipes on show. Not many loungers or extra spa facilities. For example, 2x hot water urns and pukka teabags. There were used cups, stirrers and discarded towels left on loungers. Food was alright. Drinks were expensive. Treatment was nice and included more than expected (had an eye treatment and also had a mini facial and scalp massage). Overall we enjoyed our weekend and we felt all that was included was good value for money. Hotel and facilities not very luxurious and miscommunications/lack of attention to detail let it down a bit.

- The food was uninspiring - The breakfast was fresh and frequently replaced, but the evening meal was expensive for something so bland and unoriginal. The staff were excellent. While not in a terrible state, the décor needed some touching up and maintenance here and there. The building itself is wonderful, but it was a shame to see so much damage to many of the original features simply going unrepaired.
- The walls are so thin you can hear everything going on in your neighbours room. The doors slam and we were at the entrance so doors were slamming all night. Terrible nights sleep, wish we'd done a day spa visit instead.n

- Excellent. Really big rooms, clean and comfortable. Restaurant food and staff great. Will be back. Love the grounds of this hotel including the Spa.
