Matfen Hall is owned by The Walwick Estate Group, which is run by Director and Chairman, David George Harrison. The hotel was bought from the Blackett family who had previously owned the property since the 1830s.
Matfen Hall is a five-star hotel on a beautiful country estate in Northumberland. It sits on 300 acres of parkland and is a spectacular destination for any spa experience. If you are driving there is free on-site parking as well as electric charging points available. The closest train station is Newcastle Train Station which is a three-minute drive to the hotel. The closest airport is Newcastle International Airport which is a 20-minute drive away. Airport transfers are available by contacting the Guest Relations team. There is also a helipad available at the hotel. Please note the helipad is only available for daylight landing and the hotel requires guests to contact before arrival to book a landing slot.
