- Great location. Facilities are a bit tired. Staff lovely. Back/neck massage not great, has left me with more pain in my neck than I had came in with.
- I had an absolutely amazing spa day! Rachel, my massage therapist, took great care of me throughout the experience, making sure I felt pampered. The back, neck, and shoulder massage was incredible—so relaxing and just what I needed to melt away all the tension. The foot scrub and massage was equally amazing, providing some much-needed relief. The pool, sauna, and steam room were all in good condition and added to the overall relaxation. The changing facilities were spotlessly clean, and the receptionist was lovely. I was especially impressed when I bumped into her in the hall two hours later, and she remembered my name—such a thoughtful touch. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!

- Room was lovely, beds comfortable. Shower a bit awkward to use and seemed to only be hot water or hotter - I think the knob may have been broken. Restaurant was lovely as well as the food and a good choice. Unfortunately the ice machine was broken so having a nightcap wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been.
- Like fawlty towers! Corridors cold. Hardly any selection of drinks in the bar. Afternoon tea just a disgrace-very poor selection; stale scones-poor value for money. Staff pleasant but very inexperienced. Sorry but would never stay again
- This was my first visit to the MacDonald Hotel and will also be my last. On entering the grounds of the hotel it was lovely, however that thought dissapeared as soon as i walked through the front door. I appreciate that this is an old style country house hotel, but the decor was a joke, it just felt very dark, dingy, old fashioned and depressing. The hotel is in much need of a refurb and brighter more modern colours used. The staff pleasant but not very attentative and not once were we asked how things were,we were not even asked at check out how our stay had been, which i found strange. service in the bar and restaurant were slow and uncaring. The prices were the most expensive nd most ridiculous i have ever experinced, I stayed in Kennsington London last year and the MacDonald was more expensive !!!On a plus the pool is very good and the Spa area is more modern and pleasant,but again not very attentative, staff continued to chat as we stood at reception waiting to be served. Overall i would NOT recommend this hotel :(
- I had a very relaxing time at this hotel but the single room was very small. I would say the hotel is set out nicely but it needs updating. The shower was very out dated. The hotel was set on a lot of land but it would have been beneficial for there to be a bike track on the land as the hotel leads to a very busy road. Overall my experience was nice.
