    The spa was in serious need of maintenance. The change facilities were nice but most of the steam/sauna rooms were out of service or broken. The experience shower had lots of tiles missing from the walls broken showers and the floor was covered in an inch of sitting water. In the end there was just the jet pool and one sauna that were usable. At no point were we warned by staff that the services in the spa were reduced. You are better off just using the hotels pool which has more facilities than the spa with its working steam room and sauna. For lunch we told our server about being celiac and were served regular bread despite being told there was a GF option.

    Overall we enjoyed our indulgence stay, however l would not consider it good value for money at £110 per person for the following reasons: 1. Booked lunch on arrival only to be told when we got to restaurant no tables available and we would have to come back.l insisted on a seat by the fireplace which was kind of adequate to eat, luckily a table became available within 5 minutes so we were able to eat and make our treatment on time. When we arrived in the morning we were given our flip flops and robes but no towels!! Also our fruit platter in the afternoon was nothing like the platters served in the morning as fruit had run low. Staff seemed disorganised and whilst friendly not especially communicative. Our facials were heavenly though thank you and that did feel indulgent.

    I liked that it was not busy so everyone had a lounger to use. The pool was lovely also. Feel like there could be more experience rooms as only 1 “hibernation room” which had a gang of women being quite noisy in. The food was a real disappointment, no drinks included and the “buffet” was one small table section with a bowl of salad, some dressings and nachos, bread and butter. There was a menu for hot food but very limited. Good felt like an afterthought/ last minute scramble to bump the price up a bit more. We had some bread and left. There was noticeable mould on the walls and cocoon beds kind of as expected. Treatment was nice but I am badly bruised from it, and my massusue had to leave a few minutes in as she had no oil. Treatment was supposed to be 60 minutes but was in and out within 45. Would have been nice for extra warm towels for the shower and labelling of the liquid in the dispenser- was unsure if this was body wash or shampoo? Probably wouldn’t visit again

    Staff were lovely polite and professional the treatments were great!! Condition of spa itself quite a bit grotty. Mould growing everywhere. Going down the staircase mould Down the walls, all around the window. In the hydrotherapy pool all the vents were black not white!! Paint peeling off the pillars. Mould on ceilings in the showers. Rainforest shower part doesn’t even work properly. Steam room had a funky smell. Blue tac holding light switches onto the walls. Bit of a shame really the condition of the spa itself has let the lovely polite staff down.

    Very Good
    Treatments were great and the hydro pool was lovely. On checking in my treatment time had been changed without notification which would have meant missing lunch. WhenI pointed this out my friend and I had a 30 minute lunch window. This rather spoilt the beginning of the afternoon.
