    Good
This was booked as a present for us and we were excited to visit. We arrived at the spa an hour before our treatments were booked as we were told we could use the facilities anytime from 10am. When we arrived at the desk, there was a man stood there with his 2 children and he said he’d been waiting for 10 minutes for someone to appear. A further 5 mins goes by so he went behind the desk himself to grab himself some towels for the pool. We would have done the same but we wanted to let them know we arrived for our treatments. We wait for a further 10 minutes and eventually a lady came out to see to us. She gave us our robes and towels and asked if we had been to the spa before and we told her we hadn’t. She then kept referring to the facilities saying “do you remember how this works?” And a couple of times I had to tell her “no this is our first time here”. We got changed and went to use the pool area before our treatments. There were about 10 loungers around the pool which were occupied (it was busy) but there was one remaining. The liner was covered in stains so we could see why no one had chosen to use this one. We weren’t going to be sitting on it so just dumped our things and off we went. It was a weekend so the pool was filled with children playing (don’t mind this at all but if you’re after a relaxing swim, stick to week days or night times). We used the sauna and steam room which were lovely and the jacuzzi. The pool area itself needed work doing as there was paint flaking off the walls and ceilings and just general maintenance that was needed. When it was time for our treatments, we were treated at the same time in separate rooms. The young girl who was looking after me was really lovely but felt clear she didn’t read my consultation form. She was asking a lot of questions which I’d already answered on the form. The massage and facial were both really lovely. There was ambient music playing in the background but the CD kept crashing which ruined the atmosphere a little bit, especially when the therapist had to stop treatments mid way to correct it. She apologised but it obviously wasn’t her fault - just the tools she had to work with. One thing I will say is that if you’re after a quiet, relaxing treatment you might get a shock - my therapist (as lovely and friendly as she was) was so chatty. Just something I’d never experienced when getting a massage. After the treatment was finished, we both went and got redressed and were leaving to go and get our afternoon tea. We could hear the therapists complaining indiscreetly that they were so busy and were annoyed that they weren’t getting a break between clients. We headed off to get our afternoon tea and we couldn’t fault it. The hotel restaurant staff were so lovely and professional and the selection and quality of food was great. I think this spa package could be brilliant but felt a bit let down by a lot of it on the day. I wouldn’t choose to come back to this particular spa in a hurry.

    Excellent
Kayleigh the therapist was amazing and delivered top quality care and aftercare as we had a 60 minute treatment. Myself and my friend had a back massage and facial which were amazing we both left happy and relaxed! Highly would recommend Kayleigh for your treatments. Facilities are good just a bit small and we enjoyed our light lunch. Highly would recommend the spa day break.

This was my first experience at a spa but I really enjoyed it! The staff were very friendly and it was easy to book times for treatment and afternoon tea. The facilities themselves were good - there was a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. It was very quiet when we visited even though it was a Saturday which was an added bonus. My partner and I both enjoyed our treatments. The afternoon tea was decent too. So overall a good experience, especially for the price.

This was a spa day and we didnt stay over. We went to the wrong Hotel to start with as this hotel is not near Gosforth/Park. It's a very small facility with limited space so felt a bit cramped. The staff were very nice and were polite and helpful. The area around the jacuzzi needs refurbishment, it looks really dirty. Restaurant areas are very nice and the food was ok and they provided a gluten free afternoon tea for us. Staff there were very helpful.
