Was welcomed with a room upgrade which was great. Spa treatment was lovely but pool area was tired and needs a bit of tidying up. Could smell drainage in the pool.

    Good
Overall I would say it was good value for money but this is not a spa. This is a hotel with a gym, pool, sauna and steam room with a treatment room. The relaxation room is the only part that makes it anything near a spa. There are two pools, but these are small and over crowded. The sauna and steam room were small and dated. The changing facilities were well maintained. The communication in general was pretty poor. I called the hotel to book in my treatment, a few days later I received an email confirming a different time. I called up and after 30 mins on the phone they confirmed I had been booked twice. After I left the spa I was called to ask for payment, which I already had made to spa breaks and the person at reception had viewed this upon my arrival. The food was average. It was more than a light lunch, but the chicken was dry and rubbery. I wasn’t offered anything but water with my food. I am aware drinks were not included but I would have paid for an additional drink. The treatment itself was nice. The heated bed was a real treat! By the time I had my treatment at 2pm, I was bored and very cold. The restaurant and relaxation room were both uncomfortably cold. Staff were nice enough. This is just a hotel with treatments and a relaxation room (some beds in a nicely decoration room, very cold). This is not a spa. I heard others making comments about this too. I did not mention this to the staff at the hotel as I received the services that were mentioned on my booking, but it should not be advertised as a spa. You really do get what you pay for.
