    Lovely looking hotel although we were kept outside and separate from the main building, which felt a bit odd. Morning service was good and staff were pleasant and professional. The water in the Hot tub was dangerously boiling hot. We dipped our toes in and saw others doing the same and jumping out. Once I reported it they were quick to fix but that wasn’t until midday and felt it should have been checked before opening. Massage was great. Lunch was very bland. Prawn, salmon and avocado salad and Caesar salad were generous on the chicken and fish but it was only on lettuce leaves, no other salad. Some tomatoes/cucumber would have made it more palatable. We were given a QR code to use for ordering In the afternoon. I tried to order two coffees but that option wasn’t there so I used the ‘call a waiter’ option. No-one came. I looked around but there was no staff around. An outside bar opened mid-afternoon so we ordered two cocktails via the QR code as there was no coffee option. These were expensive and we were charged a 12.5% service charge. We asked for the bill when the cocktails came as we weren’t hotel guests. This never came. When we were leaving we had to look around for the bartender who seemed to disappear into the main hotel every so often. We walked over to the main hotel and then back to the outside bar. Eventually he came back and we asked for the bill again and paid it before we left. We thought that the experience had been very expensive to basically sit around an outside hotel pool. Massage was good but the whole day experience and the lunch was not good value for money.

    Very Good
    The treatments were good. The therapists friendly and welcoming. Considering the price of the hotel and spa you would expect a higher quality of products used after the wife's facial her skin wasnt feeling like you would expect. The treatment rooms are tiny and the walls are paper thin, you can hear the people talking in the next treatment room so not relaxing even with music playing. The pool area had lots of glasses and plates lying around, plenty of staff walked round but no one cleaned the area.

Great Fosters is set within 50 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and parkland in Windsor. For those who are driving to the hotel, take the A30 and you will find the hotel on Stroude Road. They have parking available as well as electric charge points for cars.

The nearest train station to Great Fosters is Egham (40-minutes from London Waterloo). From there, a taxi to the hotel will take less than five minutes.

When was Great Fosters built?

Great Fosters has an incredible history. A former hunting lodge, it was originally built in 1598, and testament to that is an original royal crest of Queen Elizabeth I above the main porch. In 1930 it was bought by Sir Harold Sutcliffe and following a major renovation it became a hotel. Since then it has been refurbished and updated, retaining its historic style whilst also offering modern luxuries.
