    The swimming pool was small but nice, with a few loungers crammed on the sides, the Sauna was small but worked well, we had 1 treatment each which was really lovely. If we hadn't had gone exploring and bumped into the Spa reception, we wouldn't have known what day or time our treatments were, it seemed there was very little communication between the Spa and the Hotel.

    For the amount I paid for the afternoon experience it was reasonable. Reception at the spa was friendly and helpful. The quality of the massage varied greatly between therapists and so my friends had been disappointed with theirs. The pool, sauna and steam room were ok, showers felt grubby and didn’t meet the standards for a luxury spa. The afternoon tea was great, fab warm scones. Overall I felt I wasn't the hotel staff priority & would even say an felt like we were an inconvenience which is sad, we were the only 3 guests I could see that day, and after our spa experience, had to stand and wait a while for service to buy a glass of wine and be seated. The hotel is beautiful but tired. Upholstery in the bar is very stained and unwelcoming. You would be able to forgive the physical shortfalls of the hotel if you had 5 star customer service. It isn’t, not one member of staff went above and beyond or even made pleasant small talk and asked us if we had enjoyed our experience. I was disappointed overall with my visit, but with some staff training, basic upholstery cleaning and review of the whole experience it could be so much more.

    We had a lovely stay at this spa. I'd read mixed reviews so wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. All the staff were lovely and welcoming and one of the men on reception even carried our bags upstairs for us as they were a bit heavy. Our package included a spa treatment so we both chose the himalyan salt body scrub. Our therapists, Sarah and Tyra, were absolutely fab and made us feel SO relaxed and pampered straight away. The treatment was lovely and my skin felt amazing afterwards. The following day I had the resurfacing facial. Again, my therapist was fab and the treatment was lovely. The pool, sauna and steam were great - nice and clean and we had the pool to ourselves a lot too. Also included in our package was afternoon tea on day of arrival. I was expecting a pot of tea and a scone. What we actually received was a 3 tier sandwiches/cakes/scones affair all of which was delicious and made it hard or us to fit dinner in later (although we still tried). It was lovely to visit somewhere where you don't feel like they are scrimping and being mean, especially for a package deal. I really recommend this.
