It was originally owned by Sir James Smollett who carried out extensive renovations, turning the historic building into the luxurious hotel it is today. Cameron House then stayed within the Smollett family for three centuries before being sold multiple times, finally ending up in the care of American firm KSL Capital Partners, who still own it today.
Situated on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland, Cameron House is a fairly remote location to get to. If you’re driving, there is plenty of free on site parking available for guests. The closest airport is Glasgow which is 17 miles away and the closest train station is Balloch which is 1.8 miles from the hotel.
