Turn into a mile-long approach and you instantly get a sense of escapism as you arrive at Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club. Surrounded by Derbyshire countryside and 300 acres of grounds, the historic hotel is a recurring favourite amongst spa goers and leisure seekers - here's why...
Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club might be a four-star hotel today, but its history goes all the way back to 1260. Originally established by the Cursor family, the small priory was dissolved in 1536 and the original building was demolished in favour of a private home. Today you can still see a single arch remaining from the monastic buildings.
Within the hotel's 300 acres of grounds, it has two 18-hole golf courses. The Moorland Course is a par 70, heathland course, while the Priory Course is par 70 and parkland.
Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory Country Club feels deliciously secluded, but it's also in a fantastic location for exploring the surrounding area. Whether you're a history fan looking to explore the home of the Dukes of Devonshire, or you want to put on your hiking boots and head off into the Peak District National Park, there's much to see and enjoy.
One of the most popular features of the hotel is the Cast Iron Bar & Grill, a family-friendly restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, serving the best of British throughout the day.
The experience would not be complete without a little R&R, and that's where the hotel's contemporary spa and leisure facilities come in. Complete with a gym, a pool, sauna, solarium, whirlpool and children’s pool, not to mention tennis courts, and a jogging trail around the grounds, they also have spa treatments using the gorgeous Decléor product line.
