Read full postOne of Ireland’s top luxury spa destinations, Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort has introduced group spa breaks that tailor the experience to make it ideal for friends visiting together. With cottage accommodation to give you time and space to enjoy one another’s company, the spa experiences combine luxury and wellbeing as well as plenty of indulgence.
While the spa is quite clearly a romantic destination, not everyone will have realised what a special place it is to spend time with friends. Its size and facilities are well positioned for special occasions or simply an opportunity to congregate for quality time.
Here are just a few of the things we love on a group spa break at Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort:
This private house in a secluded spot in the hotel grounds can sleep up to 12.It has its own outdoor hot tub, private gardens overlooking the River Maine and barbecue area. You can arrange for therapists to come and perform treatments in the privacy of the house as well.
The Group Treatment Suite in the spa is perfect for making sure you can all enjoy your spa time together. A luxury boudoir of an environment, it has lots of seating including hanging bubble chairs, room for refreshments and space to be yourselves.
The thermal facilities at the hotel really can’t be underestimated. They are huge, with plenty of space for the largest of groups. It is complete with a pool, orangery, Celtic sauna where they offer unique wellbeing rituals, a snow cabin and sanarium, as well as the River House for classes, which is raised on stilts. There’s also a snail shell shaped experience shower, hydrotherapy pool, and outdoor hot tubs with views over the cascading River Maine.
As if the general thermal facilities weren’t enough, for groups wanting to relax and really enjoy the beauty of the landscape, try a riverside Forest bathing experience in eco-friendly, wood fired hot tubs which soothe aching muscles in the calm and quiet of this mesmerising location.
This is a really unique treatment that you can have as a group, giving new meaning to the concept of a sauna. It can take up to six people at a time and is a tradition practised in central and northern Europe - you can find out more here.
Another group spa experience that’s absolutely worth trying while you’re here, is the Beltane Experience. Bringing together fire, air and water, relax around a sunken fire with friends before enjoying a dip in the 12 person hot tub.
