Taking in views of the South Ayrshire coastline and the Royal Troon golf club, The Marine Hotel - Ayrshire offers rest, relaxation and an easy going atmosphere. Here's what you need to know about this impressive spa hotel.
The landscape surrounding Marine Hotel - Ayrshire is breathtaking, and really sets the scene for rest and recuperation. On the dramatic South Ayrshire coast, the hotel overlooks the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran. Close by, guests will find sandy beaches to explore, a bustling harbour, ancient castles and historic landmarks. Described as a 'seafarer's Eden', the hotel is a jewel on a landscape that offers plenty of natural inspiration and will certainly blog the cobwebs away.
A hotel with history is always a treat, and this one dates back to 1894. Named for its position on the West Coast of Scotland, it was designed by Glaswegian architects Salmon and Gillespie, and became a significant landmark on the area. It has had four stars to its name and its 89 guest rooms since 1912, and while it has been renovated and updated befitting contemporary hospitality, it retains a sense of heritage in its style, fabrics and ambience. This is a place with gravitas.
The legendary Royal Troon Golf Club, a nine-time host of The Open, is visible from pretty much all parts of the property. It's not actually part of the property itself, but it's proximity is tantalising and guests can book to play (in advance). The presence of the golf course also marks something of a tradition in the region, which has close to 50 golf courses between Ayrshire and Arran.
The aptly named Fairways restaurant overlooks the 18th hole at Royal Troon Golf Club. The award-winning restaurant has two AA Rosettes, and is particularly well known for its quintessentially Scottish fare. Afternoon tea is also a treat (with prerequisite champagne preferably).
In a setting like this you can't help but relax. However, the spa experiences at The Marine Hotel - Ayrshire take it to the next level. Facilities are contemporary, including a gym, dance studio hosting a number of exercise classes; a pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and solarium.
They also incorporate a real sense of local wellness with therapies using Ishga products. The organic, vegan seaweed-derived skincare is from the Scottish waters and made locally in the Outer Hebrides. They also use Made For Life Organics, hand blended in Cornwall.
One of the beautiful things about The Marine Hotel - Ayrshire, is really just about anyone will find that it suits their wants. It's a lovely place for groups of friends, for a mother/daughter break, a corporate retreat or to enjoy time to yourself. Perhaps most of all however, it's a great place for a romantic getaway. The heritage, the landscape, the elegance of it all provide you with everything you need for quality time together.
