Hatherley Manor Hotel and Spa

A 17th-century manor house with a contemporary, purpose built spa in the grounds, Hatherley Manor Hotel and Spa is the perfect combination of Cotswold experiences. The hotel is just a 10-minute drive from Gloucester town centre or a 20-minute drive from Cheltenham, making it a great base from which to explore the surrounding area. Rooms are elegant and luxurious, and the restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosette. The spa was added in 2018 and is ultra contemporary but softened by the clever use of organic materials. Features include a 12 metre swimming pool and sauna, both with views of the walled garden, a bespoke Vitality Pool operating at 34-36°C with air jets, water massage, neck massage canons and volcano pads; a steam cabin, a tepidarium and more.

The Greenway

This romantic country house hotel is the epitome of what you might expect from one of our top Cotswold spas. The 16th century Elizabethan manor house is all honey coloured stone rambling ivy. It’s surrounded by eight acres of grounds stretching out to countryside views. Food is a treat in the oak panelled Garden restaurant with views over the sunken garden and lily pond - little wonder it’s the place where many proposals have taken place! The Elan Spa, situated in the grounds of the hotel, also has it’s own Orchard Brasserie. Contrastingly modern, compared to the hotel design, it’s a haven of peace complete with a hydrotherapy pool, fitness suite, sauna, steam room and sanarium, experience showers, an al fresco hot tub and a champagne nail bar.

Cotswold House Hotel and Spa

Quintessentially Cotswold, Cotswold House Hotel and Spa is a delicious combination of old and new, with the gardens really adding to the sense of calm that it has to offer. Stay in historic rooms or one of the cottages in the grounds, two of which have private gardens and hot tubs. Local produce such as locally churned cheeses, home-reared meat and vegetables make up the menu, and it doesn’t hurt to sample one of their 80 specialist gins. The award-winning, adult-only spa sits in the gardens, is small and perfectly formed. Stroll down a pretty cobbled pathway and you will find a world of Decleor treatments, six treatment rooms, a heated hydrotherapy pool and an aromatic steam room.

Tortworth Court

This impressive looking hotel is steeped in history, offering guests both a warm welcome and a luxurious stay. The Grade II listed Victorian mansion sits in 30 acres of private gardens, but the history of the hotel itself goes back to 1343 - part of the reason it’s one of our favourite Cotswold spas. It even hosted Queen Elizabeth II on her visit in 1978.For special occasions why not stay in a Four Poster Double Bedroom. The fine dining restaurant is one of the favourite parts of the experience - especially the oak panelled Moreton’s Restaurant featuring ornate archways and an impressive fireplace. Meanwhile, in the grounds of the hotel, the Peels Spa is a modern addition, complete with a 12 metre swimming pool, a gym, sauna and spa bath, there is space to work out before winding down.
