Situated in the Cheshire countryside, Cottons Hotel and Spa was named Best Hotel in Cheshire 2018 as well as World Luxury Spa Hotel 2018.So what makes it so special and why do we especially love it for group getaways?
Overall, Cottons Hotel and Spa has a stylish feel combined with cosy rustic charm. Part of the House of Daniel Thwaites collection of hotels, rooms at this Cheshire spa hotel are all clean lines and contemporary colours. They have all the bells and whistles you would expect from a modern hotel. And the luxury of Caudalie toiletries gets you into the spa vibe from the moment you shower in the morning.
A modern Cheshire spa
The spa really is beautifully styled. In particular, around the pool the simplicity of clean lines and cool colours is apparent. There’s a pool, outdoor hot tub, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as well as a fully equipped gym. While the pool is family friendly, there are adult-only swim times from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. So it’s worth booking your treatments around those if you want to avoid the kids in the pool at weekends. In particular, we’re fans of the rather idyllic outside seating area and outdoor hot tub.
The AA Rosette Restaurant and Bar is a must for anyone who appreciates tasty food, cooked with local ingredients by head chef Joe Liptrott. You have the luxury of choosing where you eat - from the bar, in the lounge, the restaurant, or your own private dining room. Either way, the award-winning restaurant aims to please and accommodate you in every way. Their new al fresco terrace is perfect for summer months, providing a picturesque setting for any outdoor eating or drinking and watching the sunset in the summer.
A convenient location with plenty to see and do
Surrounded by gardens, but close enough to Manchester, Liverpool, and Chester, you won’t feel cut off but it’s far enough away to enjoy a relaxing break. Its location also makes it easy to get to, just minutes from the M6 and M56.For those staying for a couple of days or making it part of a wider trip, favourite local attractions include The Peover Hall & Gardens, Tatton Park and Tabley House stately home.
The verdict: who would love this Cheshire spa?
While there’s an easy going relaxation to Cottons Hotel and Spa that would make anyone welcome, it’s become a particular favourite amongst groups of friends. That’s in part because of the spa experiences and entertainment that they’re so adept at laying on. Tribute nights add a fun and flirtatious atmosphere. Meanwhile spa packages such as Girls Night In offer you the chance to spend time with friends with extra details such as half a bottle of prosecco per person and sharing platters served in your room, laid on.
