A luxurious hotel in Scotland, Macdonald Marine Hotel is an impressive, almost gothic-style building, that sits proudly and impressively in this dramatic landscape. It’s at once welcoming and romantic with a true sense of Scottish charm thanks to tartan interiors and rich fabrics.
A half hour drive from Edinburgh, Macdonald Marine Hotel has views of a dramatic Scottish coastline as well as the surrounding golf course. It’s a view you can take advantage of from all angles as the hotel has a number of outdoor terrace areas enjoying views of the sea as well as an outdoor hydro pool.
Named for the Executive Chef, the John Paul at the Marine restaurant is a fine dining experience with a relaxed atmosphere, serving local ingredients in a seasonal menu. It’s hard to beat freshly caught seafood prepared by a top class chef! Meanwhile, The Links Bar and Lounges serve drinks and light bites - appropriately, once again, with a view of the West Links Golf Course.
The hotel is blessed with an award-winning thermal spa and Vital Health and Wellbeing Club. One of the main attractions is the pool with its floor to ceiling windows. There’s a gym, exercise classes, a sauna, steam room, sensation shower, cold therapy room, massage shower and salt water hydro-pool where you can swim from indoors to outdoors. Their collection of face and body treatments are really decadent, paying special attention to tailoring them to the individual. They also offer treatments and packages designed for anyone with or recovering from cancer and delivered by specially trained spa therapists.
The amount of space that the hotel has to offer, both inside and out, makes it perfect for groups of friends as well as relaxed hen parties, lounging in the pool, taking walks together, and dining in style. However, it’s also romantic in an easy going, relaxed kind of way so it’s wonderful for couples looking for quality time together.
