The best spa to be in your element: AWAY Spa at W Edinburgh
The elements often play a role in spa experiences, but at this luxury spa hotel in Edinburgh they take that earthy inspiration to new heights.
Read full postThe spa is spread across two floors in a building within the hotel grounds. As you enter the building you find the gym, but when you get into the spa area itself there’s a wonderful sense of decadence. It’s all soft purples and creams, contemporary style that’s sympathetic to the barn conversion, and space for up to 10 people in the relaxation area, while the wider spa lounge and restaurant area takes up to 70 people.
The wallpaper is grey with beautiful purple flowers, there are velvet chairs in greys and purples, and the relaxation room has single beds and double beds as well with a sparkling chandelier at the centre so it almost like there are stars on the ceiling.
There’s a full thermal suite including a salt infused sauna, a tepidarium, an outdoor hydro pool and a spa pool. This is now top of our list of reasons for visiting as not only is it spectacular in its own right, it’s also one of the only thermal facilities in the area. In the summer in particular, the outdoor hydro pool is a delight (come rain or shine), and there are lots of new loungers to sit on as well, so don’t forget a good book!
Thanks to the space in the relaxation area, 10 treatment rooms (two of which are dual therapy rooms), a collection of new group packages and space in the thermal area to accommodate six to eight people in many of the components at a time, it’s a wonderful place to visit with friends. Kenwick Park is also well known for its lodge accommodation, which makes it ideal for girly weekend getaways. That said, it’s also a very romantic destination to visit simply because of the way the whole place is designed - with that sense of luxury throughout, and of course there’s a golf course as well should anyone wish to play.
Now use Natural Spa Factory products alongside Elemis treatments, the spa offers more holistic options including reflexology. That means there are more options which really enhances the spa experience and makes it quite unique in the area. There’s a lot more choice when it comes to your therapies, and it’s nice to have the two product line options so your spa experience can be tailored to you.
