Very disappointed in the spa experience. We arrived at the spa to be questioned as they couldn't find our booking at first then later found us. We were given a robe and a towel and told to go through to use the facilities which was very busy and no where to lounge. We placed our gowns and towels on a chair and used the pool. We then went for our treatment which was meant to be a 25 min back neck an shoulder treatment it lasted 19 mins Im a therapist and work for elemis and I instructed the therapist during my consultation then when she finished she didnt apply any instant refresh gel and said I will not bore you with any after care and I found my own way back to the relax room to which I had to ask for a clean glass as the room was full of dirty glasses. Very disappointing treatment when I was so looking forward to some much needed relaxation.

The spa was outdated, cramped and dirty in places.

    Poor
Spa was very overcrowded and not relaxing in the slightest. Pool water was not heated at all, probably a dozen loungers for 50+ people in the pool area. 1 tiny jacuzzi which always occupied. Pool had slides and was heavily catered for kids - much more like a water park than a relaxing area. Treatment time was changed without my knowledge upon arrival. Staff were polite, but were clearly overworked and inexperienced. Restaurant staff were all teenagers (no faults with them) but their inexperience showed. Breakfast was disappointing, many buffet items were not stocked up and only 1 out of 3 coffee machines working. Too many people for the facility to handle I reckon. Hotel corridors were messy with room service plates not yet collected. Treatment was fine, the only decent part of the stay. Rooms were tired and minimal, had better hotel stays in Premier Inn.

    Good
We enjoyed our day at the spa overall, although the facilities could do with updating. The treatments were enjoyable, however we felt that the time where therapists were getting oils etc could have been more smoothly achieved, rather than clunking around. The light lunch was delicious, although there wasn't a great deal to choose from. The lack of showers by the poolside made things awkward as we kept having to go back into the changing rooms before using different facilities. One aspect we were unhappy with was the amount of children running around and screaming. We ourselves have a young child and had purposefully booked a spa day to relax and unwind. I’m not sure we managed to achieve this with all the chaos of children jumping into the pools and the lack of seating meant we were often stood around. We actually left earlier than planned because there was nowhere to sit and we felt like we were at a water park with the amount of children. We were bought this present as a gift, however if we had paid for it ourselves I would have complained.

    Very Good
The staff at the spa where very friendly and professional, always on hand to help with an queries and make the day enjoyable in anyway. Our stay was during half term so the facilities where quite busy, but still had a relaxing time as the pool area and other relaxation rooms where spacious enough to accommodate the guests the spa had.
